Most GearVerify tools run entirely in your browser. When you enter a VIN or other input:
- Data is processed locally in your browser
- Data is sent directly to official government APIs (NHTSA, CPSC) when you initiate a search
- We do not store your inputs on our servers
- We do not share your inputs with third parties
Official Data Sources
When you use our recall checkers or VIN decoders, your searches are sent directly to official government APIs:
- NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration)
- CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission)

We do not use tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future:
