What this recall means for you

Safe-T-Gate has initiated a recall of approximately 87,000 pressure-mounted baby gates after receiving 14 reports of finger injuries, including 3 confirmed fingertip amputations in children aged 14 to 36 months. The hazard stems from a pinch-point gap that forms between the gate latch and the locking mechanism when the gate is in the open position. Young children的好奇心 leads them to place fingers in this gap while reaching for toys or attempting to climb, and the spring-loaded latch closes with enough force to cause serious injury. The gates were sold exclusively through Amazon and BuyBuy Baby from June 2022 through February 2025. Parents and caregivers who own these gates should immediately stop using them in any configuration where children have access and either dispose of the gate or contact Safe-T-Gate for a free replacement with an improved latch design that eliminates the pinch point entirely.
